snow in Prescott National Forest, just outside Prescott

Morning Snow Turns to Afternoon Flooding

We live at the city limits outside of Prescott on White Spar Road. Today schools were closed and this was the beautiful scene we awakened to this morning. As the temps went up, huge clumps of snow dropped 100'+ out of the ponderosa and pinon pines, hitting our roof with a thud. The rest of the day has seen torrential rain washing away almost all vestiges of snow, and now the dry wash behind us is up about 4 feet and still rising. Scary, as the wash is now scooping away soil around 2 of the trees that could fall on our RV if the root system becomes too compromised.
