Our Cottonwood, AZ senior citizen,Al Slusser, has been walking for almost a month now, pulling his tent and supplies in a homemade wagon. He has dedicated his walk to Senior Citizens, Disabled Americans & Veterans.
Al is currently in Casa Grande, AZ, where he spent some time looking for a wagon tire to replace the blown one he had while walking in the desert. A good samaritan, by the name of Angel stopped to gave Al a lift into Casa Grande and help locate a new tire for his wagon. Al Tillis, a good friend and the creator of Al Slusser’s wagon heard of the tire problem and called to meet Al halfway in Glendale with a spare tire. Our good Samaritan, Angel then volunteered to drive Al and his wagon to Glendale for the repair meeting.
Al is looking forward to a days rest before continuing his trek to the East coast walking from Casa Grande. He will be seeking to meet with city officials to request documentation with an official seal that will record his walk across the United States. His son has created a web page where he can be followed at:
