An East Valley Karate Instructor and Professor of Martial Arts received nominations for two Halls of Fame.
Grandmaster Hausel received invitations to the Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Fame in Atlantic City, New Jersey & the ABI Hall of Fame for Distinguished Accomplishments in Washington for 2010.
Hausel has had a distinguished career in martial arts for 45 years which includes teaching at 4 major universities and providing an education in martial arts for hundreds of university students who now are professional scientists, engineers, university faculty, teachers, etc. all over the world. In 1999, he was certified as grandmaster of Shorin-Ryu Karate (Seiyo-Kai) and promoted to kudan (9th degree black belt). In 2004, he was promoted to judan (10th degree red belt), the highest rank available in Japanese karate. Since 1998, he has been inducted into 15 other Halls of Fame around the world.
In addition to being a legendary karate instructor, he is one of the top geoscientists in North America. The polymath (geologist, martial artist, artist, writer and public speaker) was nominated for 4 other national & international awards for 2009 and 2010 that includes the International Einstein Award for Scientific Achievement, Magna Cum Laude Honor Award, American Order of Merit for Professional Achievements and Man of the Year.
In 2009, he was inducted into Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America & presented one of the more prestigious awards in economic geology at the 2009 PDAC conference in Toronto, Canada: the Thayer Lindsley Award for an international mineral discovery for his contributions to the discovery of a world-class gold deposit in Alaska.
