Hello all! We are a local grassroots outreach group that got in over our heads with an awesome project...NOW we need your help! We are making plastic weather proof mats for our friends on the street using RECYCLED plastic grocery bags!
Our team held several bag drives in the valley, and we came together on Sunday to make it happen! Well, the reality is that we need MORE people! Here is what we need:
1. collect plastic bags from your friends and family
2. Bring your bags & join us to make plarn (plastic yarn)
3. Let us teach you how to make plarn, we will give you some of our plastic bags, OR use the ones you have collected and transform them into plarn!
4. CROCHET/KNIT/WEAVE the plarn into mats for the homeless.
For now, we have a plan to meet up on Dec 9th to make plarn as a community, and everyone is invited!! Call/text/email if you would like more info!
The bottom line is that we have a goal, and now we are reaching out for help!!
