Hot Air Balloon Deflates in Neighborhood on 2200 W RedBird in North Phoenix

Hot Air Balloon Lands in Neighborhood

About 8:20 this morning the hot air balloon came close to Norterra Canyon School. The kindergartners were all waving to the passengers and they were waving back. All this while the pilot was trying to keep the balloon from landing into nearby houses. He got the balloon up over the houses and had to land in the neighborhood at 22nd Ave and West Red Bird Rd. Some of the passengers were a little shaken and others said the pilot did a great job. At one point in the landing the basket came as close as 15 feet to a house on the southeast corner.
