This is a photo of the first Arizona Wildcats football team in 1914. My grandfather, Verne LaTourrette is pictured on the bottom left. He was born in Phoenix (I am a 3rd generation native)and he lived on a ranch and dairy farm in the area that is now 12th St. and Roosevelt. He went on to become a teacher and football coach. He taught for many years in a few different schools including Tempe and Gilbert. Unfortunately, I never got to meet him -- he passed away shortly before I was born. I am very proud of my family history in Arizona!!
