My husband and I were watching the weather and wanted to share pictures of our hidden river valley, a county island surrounded by Flagstaff city limits. We built our home by hand, from local, full round, tree length trees and local materials. Since the 1980's we have built log homes in the surrounding area.
We have been fortunate to raise our family here & occasionally rent it out as a vacation rental, so that others can enjoy this special, one of a kind place. This area has been spared from development so far, which is rare, specially since the location is so close to downtown Flagstaff. The views here are unobstructed, no power lines run through the valley and you do not see your neighbors, taking one back to the early days when Flagstaff was first settled.
We see from for or five to 180 elk through out the year (at one time), from our acreage South of Little America. It is a wildlife kingdom here, eagles chase the ducks, hawks hunt rabbits, migratory geese, various smaller birds stop by through out the day.
Being centrally located, has it advantages, within minutes of all Flagstaff has to offer. Hike, bike, horseback ride from the front door, to Walnut Canyon, N.A.U. & downtown Flagstaff.
