Here's a photo that I took yesterday in Nutrioso. Seeing the cow elk brightened my day. It was wonderful to see that they survived the fury of the Wallow fire. These cow elk stayed in the meadow away from the fire. If you look closely you will see some elk calves along with their mothers. Today I even saw 2 hen turkeys cross the highway in Nutrioso. It was great to see that there are wildlife still in the area.
