GFAA's The Mikado!

75 Kids Rehearse For Opening Night

Gilbert youth are in their last week of rehearsals for Gilbert Fine Arts Association's presentation of The Mikado. Putting the finishing touches on their show, 75 local kids ages 8 to 19 are getting into make up and costume, using the mics, and getting use to the sets and lighting for the Gilbert and Sullivan comedic operetta.

Many community volunteers have spent hours directing, creating fantastic costumes, and putting together all of the countless details involved in bringing this hilarious musical to the Mesquite Junior High School stage in November. On the heels of a very successful run of Thoroughly Modern Millie and Curtains! The Musical, the GFAA youth production team, including director Melodie Durfee are very proud to present a talented cast of Gilbert youth in the Mikado.

Since 1972, The Gilbert Fine Arts Association has established themselves as a vital community contact for established and developing artists from diverse cultures through our varied programs. Please support this Gilbert mainstay by coming to see our show!
