“Flabbergasted and humbled is what comes to mind,” said Harris. “Hunting is a huge passion in my life and in my family’s lives. I was introduced to the exhilaration of hunting when I met my husband 15 years ago. Since then, I have pushed myself to the extremes.
Harris is a very blue-collar hunter and hunts without the assistance of a guide or outfitter. Whether it is extreme weather conditions, challenging terrain or dangerous animals, she faces it head on. Some of her most extreme hunts include hunting Mule Deer above timberline at 13,000 feet elevation in the Colorado Rockies with a muzzleloader, braving 100 degree plus weather crawling through two-foot grass over ant piles and rattlesnakes to harvest a 76” Pope & Young Antelope in New Mexico, and wading through four-foot gamba grass to come eye-to-eye with a 1500 lbs Water Buffalo in the Northern Territory of Australia.
Harris loves to give people advice on what products to use and how to use them and you will often find her wrapped up in trading hunting stories with her customers. As a certified bow technician and archery instructor she uses her knowledge to teach others.
Harris also contributes a lot of time to conservation projects with the Arizona Elk Society, AZ Game and Fish, Southeastern AZ Sportsmen Club and Forest Service “I am dedicated to passing on the passion of hunting to youth and other women. A lot of women think that hunting is just for the guys, I am living proof that it isn’t.”
