On Wednesday, August 06, 2008, at approximately 6:00 p.m, a three year old child was struck in the driveway of his home by a vehicle driven by his mother.

Charity Rask, age twenty-four was driving forward out of her driveway located in the 14100 Block of Evans Drive when her husband got her attention by banging on the vehicle windows.

The child was struck by the vehicle in the area of the passenger side rear tire. It is unclear at this time exactly how the child ended up in the vicinity of the vehicle.

The City of Surprise Traffic Enforcement Unit responded to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation into the child’s injuries.

At the time of this incident the child was transported by ground to the St. Joseph’s Hospital where he was reported in good condition.
