ELOY – Three people were seriously injured after a passenger bus rollover on Interstate 10 Sunday afternoon.
It happened just before 6 p.m. on westbound I-10 near Eloy at milepost 202. According to the Department of Public Safety, there were about 30 passengers including the driver onboard the GreylineTour passenger bus at the time of the wreck.
The bus was carrying a church group from Tucson. The group was returning home after an outing in California.
Investigators believe the driver lost control of the bus then overcorrected, but an official cause isn't known yet.
Officials report all 30 passengers suffered some sort of injuries, although only three were seriously hurt. Five passengers were taken to area hospitals in a medical helicopter while the rest were transported by ground.
All were out of the hospital Monday morning.
