PHOENIX -- Temperatures are about to change in Arizona. We've been in the mid 70s in the Valley for several days now, and we'll be there again this afternoon with a forecast high of 75 degrees. Look for mostly sunny skies through much of the day, but an increase in high clouds will lead to partly sunny conditions by the late afternoon. Overnight lows will dip to the 40s under mostly clear skies.
As a ridge of high pressure slides east over our region, temperatures will warm to 80 degrees in the Valley by Thursday afternoon. That's the warmest temperature we'll see for a while though, as temperatures begin to drop off by the weekend.
Dry weather continues, but a storm system moving through the West will help to drop our temperatures in Arizona. Mid-70s are likely for Friday in the Valley, with low 70s on Saturday and partly cloudy skies.
On Sunday and Monday, look for clouds and highs back in the upper 60s, which is actually on par with average temperatures for this time of year.
