PHOENIX -- Monday was off to a chilly start with Valley temperatures in the 30s, and temperatures in the teens in the high country.  Clear skies are expected to continue throughout the day ahead for abundant sunshine and a Valley high of about 72 degrees.  That's about five degrees above average for this time of year.

Afternoon temperatures will continue to climb even further above average this week as a ridge of high pressure continues to strengthen over the West.  Dry conditions and clear skies are expected with a slow warming trend through the end of the workweek.

Highs will be near 75 degrees by Wednesday and are expected to soar to the upper 70s by Friday.  Overnight lows will continue to bottom out in the mid 30s to mid 40s around town.

Some high clouds are expeccted next weekend, and temperatures will drop just a bit but continue to be a bit above average in the low 70s.

No rain is expected for at least the next seven days.
