PHOENIX -- The scenery in the Valley this weekend will be completely different than last weekend, inviting desert-dwellers to head outdoors.

Last Saturday, a storm system tracked through Arizona and dumped more than an inch of rain in most communities, dropped hail, brought a cool down and even spawned a tornado.

This Saturday, we’re expecting the exact opposite.

A cold front tracking across northern Arizona Friday will stay out of the Valley. Sunshine will be plentiful, and temperatures will warm to right around 80. While we will see northeasterly breezes pick up to speeds of about 15 miles per hour through Saturday, that seems to be the only effect we’ll see from this system.

In the mountains,  it’s a slightly different story. Northern and eastern Arizona may see isolated, light showers through Saturday afternoon. Winds will also be stronger, especially along the Little Colorado River Valley, where we will see gusts of around 35 miles per hour.

By Sunday afternoon, this system will be out of the state. On Monday and Tuesday, high pressure builds back into the region.
