PHOENIX -- Friday is likely to be a quiet, storm-free day in the Valley. Look for partly sunny skies and an afternoon high of 106 degrees.
The ridge of high pressure centered over the Four Corners has begun shifting east, allowing drier air to spread into the state. Monsoon storms today will likely be confined to the high country.
With lower humidity, afternoon temperatures will climb a bit higher this weekend, close to 110 both Saturday and Sunday.
Our monsoon lull in the Valley is short-lived as storm chances return Sunday and into early next week.
