PHOENIX -- It looks like the Valley is in for a warm start to the month of October.

After morning lows in the upper 50s to mid-60s, look for an afternoon high of about 96 degrees under clear skies. The average high for today's date is 94 degrees.

More sunshine is expected for the rest of the workweek with highs in the low to mid-90s through Thursday.

Breezy conditions are forecast for Thursday in the deserts with windier conditions expected in the high country as a cold front moves through the state. Rain and snow is expected to our north, but for Arizona, this storm should be dry.

Behind the front, temperatures are expected to drop with afternoon highs in the Valley in the upper 80s for Friday and Saturday and overnight lows dropping to the mid-50s to mid-60s.
