Guess the First 100-degree Day Contest

PHOENIX -- After a brief "cool-down" to the 80s Thursday, the Valley will begin a rapid warm-up today.

After a cool morning in the 50s, temperatures will be in the low 80s by lunchtime and peak near 90 later this afternoon.

Overnight lows will fall to the 60s before we quickly warm to the mid 90s Saturday.

Abundant sunshine is in the forecast this weekend as a broad area of high pressure expands over the West. Look for Saturday highs near 96 degrees and near 100 both Sunday and Monday.

Next week looks very warm with highs in the upper 90s and no rain in sight.
