PHOENIX -- A warming trend will take shape across Arizona for the rest of the weekend and the first half of next week as high pressure builds into the region.

Saturday morning across the Valley kicked off in the upper 40s to upper 50s. Sky Harbor saw a morning low of 58 degrees. By the afternoon hours, the high hit 85. The seasonal average high temperature for this day in Phoenix is 79.

While high pressure dominates the area, a westerly flow will allow temperatures to gradually increase in the coming days.

In Phoenix, expect a high of 87 Sunday, 89 on Veterans Day Monday and 90 on Tuesday.

The high country will see afternoons in the 60s and 70s during this time period.

By Wednesday, our pattern starts to change as high pressure retrogrades west into the Pacific and a trough deepens across North America. This set up will allow cooler air to invade the region. By the end of the week, daytime highs in the Valley will return to the upper 70s, with a temperature tumble continuing into the weekend.
