PHOENIX -- Temperatures continue to cool to near seasonal averages heading into Sunday, while sunshine will be plentiful.

While an area of low pressure continues to move away from us, high pressure is moving in from the west. This high will set up shop over our area for Monday, keeping our weather dry and warming our temperatures through the week.

Until then, Sunday will be right on par with where we should be for this time of year as a cool northwesterly flow of air continues to move through the state.

Once winds subside Saturday night, clear skies and low humidity will allow temperatures to drop several degrees cooler than where we have been lately. In Phoenix, look for a low of 49 degrees. Flagstaff will dip to 17.

On Sunday, temperatures will rebound to a high of 79 in Phoenix, while Flagstaff will top out at 49. Winds may pick up again during the afternoon hours, but they should be pretty light.

The 80s return to the picture Monday, with our warmest days of the week falling on Tuesday and Wednesday. Phoenix is expected to reach the mid 80s by then. We’ll cool back down to the low 80s by the end of the week as cloud cover increases while our ridge of high pressure flattens out.

We’re watching an area of low pressure that could potentially bring changes to our weather pattern for Easter Sunday. Stay tuned!
