PHOENIX -- Record-breaking heat is on the way this weekend.
A ridge of high pressure will build into Arizona this week, and by Friday and through the weekend, we expect daily high temperature records throughout the state to be broken.
In the Valley, we’ll be in the upper 80s Friday through Sunday, which will set a record each of those days.
The dry weather continues as well. We haven’t had rain since December 20 of last year, making this the 52nd day without rain. Still, that’s nowhere near a record for Phoenix. That was set beginning in December of 1971, and lasted 160 days.
