PHOENIX -- Our first cold front of the season is still due into Arizona on Thursday.

With it, we’ll see scattered showers statewide, clouds, breezes and cooler temperatures. Most of the rain is forecast for the mountains of northern Arizona. Some areas could see around 1/2 inch.

Here in the Valley, the window for the chance for showers is still set to open around noon on Thursday. That's when we'll see showers and a few thunderstorms begin to develop. Thursday could also be a fairly windy day statewide with the potential for blowing dust in the deserts.

Snow showers are possible above the 7,500-foot level but major accumulations are not expected.

High clouds will be on the increase for Wednesday around metro Phoenix. We expect highs in the low 90s. Then on Thursday, high temps should dip into the 80s and by Friday, highs will only be in the 70s around the Valley!

In terms of the chances for rain in metro Phoenix, it is about 30 percent. At this point, however, the chance for any real significant rain, more than 1/10 inch of rain, is very low.
