PHOENIX -- Our last morning of September brought cool temperatures, with Valley neighborhoods dropping to the mid 50s in some spots under clear skies.

Nothing but sunshine is expected statewide today, with highs in the 70s in the high country and in the mid 90s in the deserts.

Look for a Valley high of about 95 today, which is exactly average for today's date.

Overnight lows will dip to the 60s around town tonight, with an official low of 70 forecast for Sky Harbor.

Our weather pattern doesn't change much for the next few days, with similar temperatures and conditions expected through Wednesday.

On Thursday, a deep low pressure system sweeps through the West, dragging a dry cold front through Arizona. This will bring breezy conditions from Thursday into the weekend, and a drop in temperatures.
Look for low 90s on Thursday and upper 80s on Friday. No rain or snow is expected for Arizona.

Today is the last day of the monsoon season. This year, the Valley saw an official rainfall total of 2.99 inches for the season, which is above the average rainfall of 2.71 inches of rain. It's also almost exactly what we saw during monsoon season 2012. Overall, the East Valley saw more rain than the West Valley.
