PHOENIX -- A strong ridge of high pressure is building into Arizona from the Pacific. That will bring us above-normal temperatures into the middle of next week and pretty dry air.

We don’t expect many thunderstorms anywhere in the state, including the mountains of eastern Arizona.

Temperatures will be headed back toward 110 degrees or more in the central deserts. While that’s above normal for this time of year, it’s not unexpected. In fact, on average, we have at least 10 days with temperatures of 110 degrees or more each year.

The latest monsoon forecast hints at a late “arrival” of the summer thunderstorms but the potential for some decent late-season rains. We’re also expecting a summer with above-normal temperatures.
