PHOENIX -- An area of low pressure tracking across the northern Rockies through Thursday will keep daytime highs in many Valley communities cooler than normal for this time of year.

Breezy southwesterly winds will return during the afternoon and early evening hours, but speeds won’t be as strong as compared to Tuesday. No watches, warnings or advisories have been issued for Wednesday’s breezes.

In the Phoenix-metro area, look for a high around 99 Wednesday afternoon under sunny skies. The normal high for this date is 105.

Weak high pressure builds in for the end of the week. By Thursday, Valley highs will be around 102, then will rise to around 107 on Friday, with around 108 into the weekend and the start of the new week.

Rain will stay away from Arizona in the coming days. According to the National Weather Service, the last time Phoenix Sky Harbor saw a trace of rain was April 26. The last measurable rain happened the weekend of March 1 and 2.
