PHOENIX -- The week was off to a windy and warm start, and this morning, Monday's winds weren't completely gone. Breezy northwesterly winds up to 20 mph blew through the Valley this morning, but are expected to be much lighter by this afternoon.
Look for light northerly winds between 5 and 10 mph this afternoon under mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will be a bit cooler than yesterday's 87-degree high -- just 82 degrees this afternoon.
Winds will continue to stay strong today in the Lower Colorado River Valley in Western Arizona today, with another Red Flag Warning in place.
Behind a cold front passing through Arizona today, winds will be strong and relative humidities will be low. Dry and windy weather means dangerous fire conditions.
The Valley will see lighter winds by this afternoon and even lighter winds the rest of this week.
Temperatures climb a few degrees to a high in the mid 80s by Thursday, which is the first official day of spring.
