PHOENIX -- While other parts of our country brace for record cold temperatures and blizzard conditions, the Southwest will see warm and dry conditions again today for a pretty pleasant second day of 2014.
High pressure continues to dominate our forecast, with the jet stream well to our north and temperatures well above average during the afternoons. Overnight lows will continue to bottom out in the upper 30s to upper 40s, but look for warmer temperatures this afternoon.
We topped out at 70 degrees yesterday in the Valley. Today, the mercury is expected to climb to about 74 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
Over the weekend, a cold front sweeps through the Four Corners region, dropping our temperatures just slightly. Look for dry weather this weekend, with abundant sunshine and highs near 70 degrees both Saturday and Sunday.
No rain is expected in the next seven days.
