PHOENIX -- After starting out 2013 with two consecutive months of below average temperatures, we broke that short string in March.
According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, the average high for March 2013 was 83 degrees and the average low was 56 degrees.
Our warmest day of the month was the 14th when we reached 95 degrees.
That makes it the fifth warmest month on record for Phoenix. Weather records go back to 1896.
Rainfall was a different story. We got .85 inch of rain. That's a little bit below average, but not bad considering our continuing drought. For the record, it was the 44th wettest March on record, again according to statistics kept by the National Weather Service.
As we head through this week, expect temperatures to continue above average. By Wednesday, we'll see highs around the Valley back into the 90s and those warm temps will hold through next weekend.
