PHOENIX -- After two days of near-record heat, the Valley is in for some relief.
As our ridge of high pressure loses strength and flattens out a bit, temperatures will only be able to warm to the mid 80s today. Look for low 80s Thursday and Friday and low to mid 70s by the weekend.
Breezy conditions can be expected this morning, with winds out of the east up to 20 miles an hour. Wind speeds should decrease this afternoon.
Friday, a windy storm system moves through Arizona, and there's a chance of rain for Eastern Arizona. The Valley can expect strong winds on Friday and continued breezy conditions over the weekend.
A mainly dry storm Friday will bring wind, but a second storm Saturday will bring a slight chance of rain Saturday night and Sunday morning.
