PHOENIX -- We’ll see a lot of sunshine around metro Phoenix this weekend, but temperatures will remain below average.
On Saturday, we expect highs in the mid 60s. But by Sunday, as another weather system brushes past Arizona, we’re expecting breezy conditions that will to get to 60 degrees.
In the mountains, that storm will produce some isolated snow showers and rather windy conditions at times, but no significant rain or snow is expected in the state through Sunday.
Desert high temperatures are expected to be in the mid-70s to finish out next week.
With a week to go in the month, our average high has been 69 degrees and are average low in February 2013 has been 47. We’re running about two degrees below average so February will probably end up cooler than normal.
Also, even though it seems like it’s been raining a lot, it actually hasn’t.
Only .31 inches of rain has fallen at Sky Harbor Airport this February, which is about a third of what we’d expect to get. And with dry weather expected to run through the end of next week, we’re likely seeing a month of below average rain.
