PHOENIX -- Good news for Valley residents patiently waiting for fall: A cool change is coming in the new week ahead. Our first big fall storm of the season is set to arrive mid-week.
Monday began with low temperatures in the 60s around the Valley and we are expected to warm to about 94 under mostly sunny skies this afternoon. An increase in high clouds is expected Tuesday and Wednesday with highs slowly dropping off to the low 90s, which is about average for this time of year.
On Thursday, a low pressure system is set to move across our region, bringing rain chances from west to east during the day on Thursday, along with some windy weather. Temperatures will only peak in the 80s, and the Valley has about a 20 percent chance of showers both Thursday and Thursday night. Rain chances quickly decrease on Friday when cooler air arrives. We should see highs in the upper 70s on Friday and low to mid 80s over the weekend. Overnight lows will range from the low 50s to low 60s.
