PHOENIX -- The new week is off to a mild start with forecast highs today in the low 70s across the Valley. Expect mostly sunny skies and light winds across the state, along with slightly above-average temperatures for today and tomorrow.
On Wednesday, a cold storm system moving down from western Canada brings a cold front through Arizona. There's a 30 percent chance for showers in the Valley Wednesday and Thursday, although rainfall totals should be pretty light, generally near 0.1 inch for the Valley.
In the high country, snowfall totals between 4 and 6 inches are expected in Flagstaff Wednesday and Thursday, with more expected at higher elevations.
The storm clears out by late Thursday, but colder air follows, bringing temperatures down dramatically for Friday. Look for temperatures in the 30s in the Valley on Friday and Saturday morning with highs in the low to mid 50s.
The weekend is expected to be dry but chilly.
