PHOENIX -- As a cold front moved into Arizona on Friday, winds started picking up around the state. There were numerous reports of blowing dust and to the south of metro Phoenix, Dust Storm Warnings were issued.
As of mid-afternoon, the peak wind gusts in northern Arizona were 65 miles per hour at Springerville and 60 mph at St. Johns.
Around the Valley, peak wind gusts were reported into the low 30 mph range.
As the front pushes in, we have a slight chance for pop-up showers Friday night and a slightly better chance for showers around Saturday morning. These would be very short duration showers and probably not result in much accumulation at all.
By Saturday afternoon, skies will clear and should remain pretty nice for the rest of the weekend.
