PHOENIX -- As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, the high at Sky Harbor International Airport was 113, tying a record for today's date. Also, we had a low of 92, the eighth straight day where we haven't gotten into the 80s. That's also a record.
We do see moderating forecasts ahead, tomorrow 109 is our forecast. However, the monsoon seems slow to return with the best chances for Valley thunderstorms coming Thursday and Friday. By then, we also expect cooler than normal temperatures.
For the record, the first two weeks of August have been the hottest in the past 30 years for Phoenix. That's according to the National Weather Service Office. So we've just had a little bit of weather history.
