PHOENIX -- By Saturday night, a lot of moisture will be headed into Arizona, dramatically increasing the chance for showers and thunderstorms.
For the Valley on Sunday, we’re expecting between a half and one inch of rain. Areas to the north of metro Phoenix will probably get a bit more precipitation.
Right now it looks like most of the rain is headed for western Arizona.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch Sunday for much of the state along the Colorado River. Heavy rain is also expected in southern California. The Flood Watch DOES NOT included metro Phoenix at this time.
Temperatures are also headed down this weekend. With a chance for isolated storms Saturday evening, we’ll see a high in the Valley of 102.
With significant cloud cover and scattered showers and thunderstorms on Sunday, we’ll see a high of only 92. That’s more than 10 degrees below average for this time of year.
