PHOENIX -- Although the National Weather Service has canceled the Excessive Heat Warning for the Valley today, it's still expected to be a hot day with above average temperatures.
The "normal" temperature for 4th of July in Phoenix is 107 degrees, but we'll warm to about 110 degrees this afternoon. Look for partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions with southwesterly winds between 10 and 20 mph.
In addition to a very slight chance for storms, there's a chance for areas of blowing dust this afternoon and evening.
Between about 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., when fireworks shows are planned across the Valley, look for temperatures between 100 and 105 degrees. We'll eventually drop to a low of near 87 degrees by tomorrow morning before we warm to 107 tomorrow afternoon.
The weekend is expected to be dry here in the Valley with mostly sunny skies and highs near 105 Saturday and 109 Sunday.
