SELIGMAN, Ariz. -- A young boy who went missing from his grandmother’s home in Seligman was found on Sunday.
Cole Evans, 7, was found in good health just before 12 p.m. about a mile and a half from his grandmother's home.
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office said Evans had wandered off from his grandmother’s house and spent the night sleeping under an abandoned trailer.
Two Seligman residents who were volunteering in the search spotted Evans under the trailer. When they went to investigate, Evans came running towards them.
Evans was taken to the command post where DPS Ranger paramedics examined him and determined that he was in good health.
Authorities, however, are not sure how Evans was able to survive temperatures that got as low as 15 degrees overnight.
Evans told investigators that he had heard the helicopters searching for him, but it wasn't until he saw the two volunteers that he knew to run for safety.
Evans was first reported missing on Saturday.
