PHOENIX -- A dry storm system sweeps by to our north today, driving windy and dry weather for Arizona.

Winds were starting to pick up already Tuesday morning, and were expected to gust up to 40 mph in the high country by the afternoon hours. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for Northern Arizona between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. for sustained winds between 20 and 25 mph out of the southwest.  At the same time, relative humidity is expected to drop below 15 percent.

In the Valley, we'll see 10-20 mph winds throughout the day, with peak wind speeds expected during the afternoon.

Since this is a dry system, look for abundant sunshine today and Valley temperatures rising to about 100 degrees this afternoon.  We're forecasting 101 for tomorrow and upper 90s for Friday.

Temperatures will drop off a bit more for the weekend, and no rain is expected for the next 7 days.
