PHOENIX -- Cooler temperatures are on tap for Arizona as we head toward the weekend. For the Valley, that means highs in the mid-90s, about average for this time of year, and overnight lows in the 60s and 70s. Pretty nice.
The same system that’s ushering in some of that cooler air is also forecast to produce some snow Thursday and Friday in the northern Rockies and western Plains. That’s a pretty good sign the seasons are changing as the entire continent comes more and more under the influence of the polar jet stream.
Next week, we’re expecting even cooler temperatures, but only a slight chance for rain. The good news is by next Wednesday, we should be talking about high temps in the upper 80s around Phoenix. Have we seen our last 100-degree reading in Phoenix for the year? Well, we don’t like to answer that “yes” until after the third week of October.
