PHOENIX -- The new week was off to a cloudy start, but sunny and warmer conditions are ahead.
Valley temperatures were in the 50s under overcast skies Monday morning. The high clouds were expected to move out by the afternoon for mostly sunny skies and a high temperature of 73 degrees.
About the same is expected for Tuesday, with an increase in high clouds forecast for Wednesday and Thursday.
Most of this week will be dry and sunny, but a cold front ushers in a change starting Friday. A cold Pacific storm system moves toward Arizona Friday, bringing rain chances to the Valley late Friday and throughout the weekend.
Afternoon highs will also dip to the upper 50s and low 60s next weekend.
Snow is very likely in the high country next weekend.
