PHOENIX -- The mercury is on the rise today across Arizona, with record highs forecast for the deserts of the state.
A strong ridge of high pressure has been building to our west, and today that ridge slides a bit east, bringing afternoon temperatures well above average for this time of year.
Under clear skies, the Valley will see high temperatures today in the low to mid 90s. Overnight, expect mild lows with temperatures dipping to the mid 50s to low 60s in the Valley.
On Friday, we'll warm back up to the low 90s and likely break the record highs of 91 degrees for both today and tomorrow.
Over the weekend, we'll see partly cloudy skies Saturday and afternoon highs in the upper 80s both days.
