PHOENIX -- An abundance of moisture is headed our way from Mexico and that’s expected to increase the number of thunderstorms around the state. That increase should begin overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning.

Friday could be a rather stormy day as well. Both days we’re forecasting highs only in the 90s. In fact, we think temps in the 90s will hold through Saturday and Sunday.

The amount of rain is really hard to predict for this storm. But generally, we think Valley locations will see between a quarter of an inch and half an inch of rain. Some isolated areas could see more.  And, of course, the mountains of our state and southeast Arizona will once again receive the lion’s share of the rain.

We expect to see some drying through the weekend, and by next week the chance for storms will exit the stage for a while.
