PHOENIX -- It was a hot start to the week with a high of 110 degrees yesterday. Our second 110-degree day of the year was 4 degrees shy of a record for yesterday's date.
Today, it will be nearly as hot with a forecast high of 108 degrees under clear skies.
A strong low pressure system centered to our south keeps things warm and dry in Arizona the rest of this week and into the weekend, although temperatures will gradually come down to about normal for this time of year by late in the weekend or early next week.
The monsoon starts Sunday, but we still see no sign of a monsoon pattern setting up and we expect no rain or storms in the next week.
Overnight lows range from the low 70s to low 80s around the Valley.
