FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Arizona's high country could get more than a foot of snow from a storm that's spreading across the state Friday.
Snow started falling Friday morning and is forecast to continue through Saturday. Snow levels will fall to 4,000 feet.
The National Weather Service says up to 14 inches of snow is forecast for elevations above 6,500 feet. Those locations include Flagstaff, the White Mountains, the Kaibab Plateau and areas along the Mogollon Rim.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, there is heavy snow and limited visibility at the junction of state Route 277 and SR 377 east of Heber.
According to 3TV Meteorologist April Warnecke, Forest Lakes is without power after a foot of snow fell and more snow is on the way.
Rainfall in southern and central Arizona will range from a quarter of an inch to an inch.
The East Valley has received 1/2 inch of rain so far and the West Valley has received about 1/10 inch.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says motorists should avoid travel if possible or be prepared for slick roads and limited visibility.
