PHOENIX -- Monsoon thunderstorms will continue to rumble across the mountains of Arizona, but a drying trend is on tap for the deserts, including the Valley.

A drier southwesterly flow will keep storm chances in the slight category through Friday in the Valley.  Storm chances continue to be high for Northern and Eastern Arizona, with slow-moving storms potentially bringing heavy rain.

Look for a Valley high of about 100 degrees this afternoon, six degrees below average for this time of year.  Humidity will stay high under  partly sunny skies.

Look for only a slight chance of storms again tomorrow, with warmer temperatures peaking near 105 degrees.

Storm chances for the Valley are expected to increase a bit by the weekend.
