PHOENIX -- A strong storm system moves south toward Arizona today. Look for winds to pick up today ahead of a cold front that is forecast to push through our state tonight.
In the Valley, we'll see 15-20 mph winds this afternoon. Blowing dust is a possibility, and the Valley is under a Health Watch today because of that.
Even stronger winds are expected in the high country, where a Wind Advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. Strong southwesterly winds could gust up to 55 mph.
Light rain and snow is likely across the high country between this afternoon and Wednesday afternoon, but the deserts of the state, including the Valley, should stay dry.
The storm will usher in a much cooler air mass, with Valley highs in the mid 80s today and low 70s tomorrow and Wednesday. Overnight lows will also drop off, and many Valley areas will see low 40s to low 50s by Wednesday morning and Thursday morning.
Thursday afternoon will bring temperatures back in the upper 70s with lots of sunshine.
Trick-or-treaters can expect clear skies, light winds and temperatures in the 60s.
Next weekend is expected to be warmer with temperatures in the mid 80s.
