PHOENIX -- Police are hoping the public can help find the person who stole a woman's bag out of her car in a Costco parking lot.

It happened July 30 at the Costco on Beardsley Road at Cave Creek Road.

The woman, 34, told police she was loading up her car after shopping at Costco. As she was putting her shopping cart in a corral, a man got in her car, grabbed a diaper bag and fled.

The bag contained the woman's cell phone and her wallet. The wallet had her identification, credit cards and cash.

The next day, officers discovered that one of the victim's credit cards had been used at a business on Union Hills Drive at 32nd Street.

Officers obtained video of the man using the victim's credit card.

He is described as Hispanic, in his early 20s, 5 feet nine inches to 6 feet tall, heavy build, with a mustache-goatee.

Anyone who may know the suspect, or who may have information about this incident should contact Silent Witness at 480-948-6377 (480-WITNESS). As always, any caller may remain anonymous.

Police would like to remind people to be very aware of what’s going on around them, especially when shopping and in parking lots.

The series of events in this investigation indicates the suspect may have been watching the victim’s movements as she left the business and went to her car.
