PHOENIX -- A major heat wave is underway across Arizona.
As strong high pressure builds across the Southwest, Arizona will see temperatures well above average this afternoon, and they'll continue to climb Friday and Saturday.
Look for a Valley high of 112 degrees this afternoon under sunny skies. Overnight lows will begin to come up, too. Tonight's low will be around only 87 degrees.
By the weekend, we could see record warm lows in the low 90s.
Afternoon temperatures will peak near 118 degree both Friday and Saturday, which would be record-breaking heat for the Valley. We could tie a record on Sunday with a forecast high of 115 degrees.
Monsoon moisture will begin to spread into the state late Saturday and Sunday. This will bring some clouds and higher humidity to the Valley, and a slight chance of storms to the high country.
Still no rain in sight for the Valley.
