TEMPE, Ariz. – Police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect who robbed a man in a parking lot, stole his car and used his credit card.
At approximately 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 27, the suspect approached a 22-year-old man as he was attempting to get into his car near 48th Street and Southern Avenue in Tempe.
Police said the suspect grabbed the victim by the neck, punched him on the side of the head and demanded property from him.
The suspect took the man's keys, wallet and cellphone then fled in the victim's car.
The car was recovered a week later in the area of 48th Street and Broadway Road.
Police said the suspect used the victim's credit card at the Walmart at 35th Avenue and Bethany Home Road in Phoenix.
The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens or early 20s, 6 feet tall with a thin build and a black "fade"-style haircut. He was wearing a red T-shirt with black sleeves and a white logo on the left sleeve, green athletic shorts and black athletic shoes.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or silentwitness.org. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and/or indictment of the suspect.
