PHOENIX -- Emotions are still raw for Amber Nicole Papadakis when she talks about her big sister.

"It's so difficult when people ask me, 'Well, how did she pass away? That's so terrible,' and I'm like, 'Honestly, I don't even know,' " Amber Nicole told 3TV.

On Aug. 28, 2010, 25-year-old Violetta Papadakis plunged from the roof of a Phoenix building to her death.

According to the police report, Jessica Wood was the last person to see Violetta alive and changed her story several times.

She told police Violetta didn't have her keys and planned to rappel from the roof to her apartment.

Jessie Jordan, Violetta's best friend, said that story seems impossible for several reasons. There is a barrier wall around the roof and Violetta could not have made it over the wall because she was recovering from a serious accident, Jordan explained.

"She got run over, and she was on about her 10th skin graft on her leg and her arm was casted," Jordan said.

Violetta had been drinking that night and the toxicology report showed she had a blood alcohol level of .14 percent.

"But that doesn't mean that because alcohol was in her system she was to the point of where she was so impaired that she flew off. You would have to fly off the roof to even land where I'm standing right now," Amber Nicole said.

While police questioned Jessica Wood about Violetta's death, they never considered her a suspect.

Amber Nicole said she couldn't believe it when Wood was arrested this March on suspicion of murdering a man at a Phoenix sports bar.

"Shock, complete shock, and then anger," Amber Nicole said, recalling her reaction.

Wood allegedly approached two men who were sitting on a bench outside Zipps Sports Grill at 16th Street and Bethany Home Road and opened fire without provocation. One man was pronounced dead at a hopsital and the other is expected to recover.

"If Jessica Wood had something to do directly with the death of my sister and was questioned more or possibly convicted of something, could this man's life have been saved?" Amber Nicole wondered.

"We have to go based on facts, based on things that we can prove," Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Martos said.

3TV asked the police department to take another look at Violetta's case and learned there might be new information from witnesses.

"We obtained further information from individuals who believe there may be something else to this," Martos said.

He said the investigation will be reopened based on the new information.

That's news Violetta's friends and family have been waiting nearly four years to hear, especially Amber Nicole, who feels she owes it to her sister to find the truth.

"I want to know what happened that night to my sister," she said.

Wood has pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder charges in the Zipps shooting. She is being held on $1 million bond.

3TV requested a jailhouse interview with Wood but she declined.

Calls to her attorney were not returned.
